This letter comes with a grateful heart from your friends at the SANMA family. The outpouring of Christian love that we experience from you, and the caring that you show towards this work has made an eternal difference in the lives of many! This year has been remarkable! Each day, whether we were at the peak, or in the valley, there was no evil to fear, because He was, and is, with us! Your generous prayers, love and donations helped many seekers to find what they were seeking after! Many, who were thirsty, are thirsty no more, because you sent out people to introduce them to the Water of Life!
Incredibly, the Read India! Program is sweeping the nation with the love of Jesus. Missionary teachers educate the illiterates in the community, using the Bible as the textbook. Deprived for years and even generations, the people are very thirsty for knowledge! They are from all ages, and all walks of life. The Read India! Syllabus is a self paced study program and upon completion, the individual will have the reading skill of a 4th grader. Traveling through village schools, you may see a sixteen-year old who takes pride in owning a book for the first time in her life. At the next school you might be greeted by a seventy-year old student who has just learned how to read his name. Both are learning to read through the Bible where they find eternal life!
“This is amazing! People from the other side of the world, who do not know us, have not seen us, and not been to our country, reaching out for us, I now can read my son’s letters he sent me! It is overwhelming to believe that they care for us!” -A mother expressing her gratitude for the people in America
The Educational Service Society of India is now part of SANMA. We are authorized to certify teachers to teach at public schools up to elementary level.
The nation still has 402 million illiterates. A good percentage of them would never recognize their own name in a written form, even in their own language! Millions have yet to even see a Bible!
Production of the Bible is going well. Currently SANMA is printing and distributing (KJV) Bibles in five regional languages of India. A combined total of 498 million people speak these languages. We have a long journey ahead of us, in providing enough Bibles in the regional languages, but we are making good progress.
SANMA is positioning across the cities of India small Booths called Bible Booths, usually operated by dedicated college students or Sunday school teachers. These booths carefully distribute Bibles and the Gospel literature to the public. The most requested book is “The Truth”, which is a combination of the New Testament Psalms, and Proverbs.
The official motto of India says; “Only The Truth Wins!” Naturally people seek to know what the truth might be. Hundreds of millions of Indians, do not know Who, and What, The Truth is! Millions of people have no understanding of the One who said, “I am the Truth.” SANMA is there to share the reality of Jesus to these lost ones.
Visitors often ask our young missionaries; “What is this book, The Truth?” The question is usually answered as the visitor is presented with a Gospel tract. The tract has the words of Pilate the Governor of Rome-“In him, I find no fault at all.” The truth that there was not fault in Jesus has great value to an Indian person because, according to the teachings of the Hindu religion, only one with no fault can save mankind from sins. 820 million people in India practice this religion! Each Christian has a moral obligation to demonstrate the love of Christ to others who do not know Christ.
Friends, there are plenty of reasons to praise God for what He is dong in south Asia! Every month this year our missionaries personally visited more than 2000 households, making the Gospel known and the plan of salvation available to tens of thousands of people. There are five village schools under construction now. God’s favor is allowing us to continue the work that was started by His own Son! We are humbled to see we can guide many seekers to The Way!
Please know we are honored to have your partnership in spreading the good news to the people of south Asia.
I had a great friend of SANMA traveling with me to India, Pastor John Conway, from Springtown, TX. His church has been actively involved in several projects around the world. More than a few times, referring to the spiritual thirst he noticed in the land, and the practicality and effectiveness of our programs, John said “This is awesome, James!” John’s church recently finished building a beautiful church in India. The villagers celebrated John’s visit and thanked his church.
When you see the practical methods that our indigenous missionaries follow, which takes a zero-Christian village to a village with a church full of people worshiping the living God, you will be moved to reach the lost souls of south Asia. This program that teaches people to read and write using the Bible as the textbook will touch your heart.
The holiday season is approaching us once again. Let’s make this coming year better! I implore you to evaluate spending, whether it is personal or mission spending, in the light of eternity!
I look forward to a great tomorrow in your life and in your family.
Respectfully,
James George
